"Deliver Us From Evil" full movie is now showing, and the new crime-horror thriller directed by Scott Derrickson promises to give its audience a scare.

Here is the official synopsis for the movie as published on IMDb:

"New York police officer Ralph Sarchie, struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest, schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city."

However, some movie critics find the movie lacking in "scare" appeal. Jordan Hoffman of The Guardian shares his thoughts:

"You can understand the studio exec greenlighting the picture: everyone loves New York City cop stories, and people can't get enough of "true" demonic possession. Put the two together and you're bound to have a hit."

"The box office tally may eventually prove that to be true, but what director Scott Derrickson brings to the screen has all the depth, intelligence and style of a typical Law & Order episode crossed with a season of Ghost Hunters. This is television-level moviemaking top to bottom, from its preposterous premise, scenery-chomping performances, idiotic sound cues and force-fed jump-scares. Deliver Us From Evil delivers formula, and in a formulaic fashion," he added.

Based on a 2011 book entitled "Beware the Night" written by NYC police officer Ralph Sarchie himself and Lisa Collier Cool, "Deliver Us From Evil" stars Eric Bana, Édgar Ramírez, Sean Harris, Olivia Munn, and Joel McHale.
