The new addition to Universal Studios' Wizarding World Of Harry Potter finally opened to the public on July 8. Fans flocked the newly opened Diagon Alley to experience the magic from JK Rowling's popular book series.
Diagon Alley replicated the famous wizard block in the "Harry Potter" series, complete with the Leaky Cauldron pub (serving both traditional and "Potter-ish" dishes), Weasley's Wizard Wheezes' (with their joke shop items), and even Knockturn Alley (selling artifacts of the Dark Arts).
The most popular attraction however, is the new Harry Potter ride, "Escape From Gringotts," where park-goers can experience a trip down the infamous Gringotts bank and face off with magical creatures and Harry's enemies-Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange.
The ride was so popular that pre-booking for Harry Potter's new ride has become impossible, according to previous news.
According to Huffington Post, fans had to line up for six to almost eight hours just to experience "Escape From Gringotts." That would have been enough time to finish a couple of movies or read a book from the series.
Fans were reportedly posting photos of the 450-minute wait on Twitter.
The spokesman for Universal, Tom Schroder, confirmed the ride's long lines but insisted that waiting time varied throughout the day.
The wait, however, was well worth it, according to visitors who tried it.
"If we could give it a standing ovation, we would," Nikida Vaughn (from Florida) told Reuturs after going on the interactive roller coaster ride.
Will Goff, another tourist told WFTV, "The last thing I had on my mind was the shops and everything. It was just the ride for me."
The crowd on Tuesday was reminiscent of the 2010 opening for Wizarding World Of Harry Potter's Hogsmeade area. This time, however, the influx of people did not stall Orlando's traffic, Florida Highway Patrol told Reuters.
Visitors can travel from Diagon Alley to and from Hogsmeade aboard the Hogwarts Express for a two-park ticket that costs $136 for adults and $130 for children.
