The film showcases Washington as usual chillier-than-the-Antarctic cool. He played the role of McCall. Based on the story, the character faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston.

The story revolves around him and the woman that he will save. As he comes out of retirement as a black ops commando, he will rescue a young woman, Teri, played by Chloe Grace Moretz and deal with Russian mobsters.

On Wikipedia page, the updated info of the movie said when McCall (Denzel) has come face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he becomes serving vengeance against those who brutalize the helpless, and he finds desire for justice reawakened. In this story, whenever someone has a problem and odds are stacked against them where they nowhere else to turn, McCall will rescue. That's why he was called 'The Equalizer'.

The director of this movie is Antoine Fuqua. This screenplay is written by Richard Wenk, based on the television series created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim.

Washington was not only playing the major character of this film, but he also produced this film along with Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Alex Siskin, Steve Tisch, Mace Neufeld, Tony Eldridge and Michael Sloan.
