CBS has just launched a new TV show called "Extant."
The TV series stars Halle Berry and revolves around her reconnecting efforts after spending a year in outer space.
The mystery thriller will also unveil how Berry's character, astronaut Molly Woods, became pregnant when she was all alone in space.
"Her experiences lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history," according to the show description.
As Berry told CBS in an interview, the show will slowly give out clues and revelations about her pregnancy in the TV show.
"You find out, but slowly," she said. "It's very mysterious, it's very suspenseful, and there are many twists and turns along the way getting to that resolve."
But, aside from the unborn baby Molly Woods is carrying, she already has a child- an android created by her husband John (played by Goran Visnjic) after countless times the couple tried to conceive.
"Molly struggles with wanting to love Ethan (Pierce Gagnon), because it's so important to John and to her. She wants to be a mother, she wants a family, and she's trying very hard," Berry told USA Today.
The first episode that aired on July 9, featured Molly returning from her solo space mission. In the second episode, mysteries slowly unfold as she collapses and sees something that has happened to her during her mission in outer space.
"Extant" TV series was met with mixed reviews during its pilot episode.
Read what critics have to say:
Verne Gay, Newsday:
"The opener is absolutely superlative--a thing of real beauty, even elegance.... Berry delivers a performance that's surprisingly layered and nuanced."
Robert Lloyd, Los Angeles Times:
"I am not yet sold, but I will stick around a while to see what this future holds."
Cynthia Fuchs, PopMatters:
"You're left to wonder about what she sees, or whether she believes what she sees, a set of questions that might be intriguing (watching her distraught face as she watches herself) or annoying (watching her vaguely worried face as she spots a stranger at the end of her driveway in the dead of night)."
