Finally, it's official! Rosie O'Donnell returns as a host for The View.

The show's network, ABC, tweeted out the news today saying, "ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18."

Previously, O'Donnell was on the show from 2006 to 2007. While on the show, she famously bumped heads with several personalities like Donald Trump, and even managed to offend former "View" co-hosts like Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Rumors about O'Donnell's return to show have been circulating for several days now, and fans and former costars had mixed reactions to the reports. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, in particular had a lot to say about the rumor.

In an interview with Fox News' morning show, Fox & Friends, Hasselbeck said that she was not surprised to hear rumors of O'Donnell's return, especially since she thinks the former co-host was announcing her return the same day as Barbara Walters taped her final episode.

Walter's final episode as "View" co-host saw the former "View" co-hosts reunited, and Hasselbeck mentioned that O'Donnell was so "at ease" and "walked around with such control" during that day.

"Do you think that the woman left the way that she did would be producing Walters' goodbye show?" Hasselbeck said, alluding to O'Donnell telling her that the 'reunion' episode was her idea. "Here's the shocker: it was actually her hello show."

She continued to trash talk O'Donnell saying, "Talk about not securing the border. Here in comes to 'The View' the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there."

Hasselbeck also noted that it would be interesting to see the dynamic between O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg, who would be hosting the show together.

"Whoopi is not going to let anybody control her," Hasselbeck said. "She is the leader on that show. ... I don't think it would be wise for Rosie O'Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything."

She finally concluded that the rumor reminded her of how thankful she was to be at Fox & Friends instead of The View.

O'Donnell has since reacted to Elisabeth Hasselbeck's tirade on Twitter, tweeting a sardonic one-word comment, "shocking."
