According to "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss, her co-star Phaedra Parks is "doing great" after finding out her husband Apollo Nida has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for fraud.
Burruss told HollywoodLife.com that Parks has made her career a distraction from her husband's legal woes.
"Phaedra's doing great," said Burruss. "She’s basically working. That’s how I deal with things too; when I have a lot going on, I just put more into work."
The Grammy winner informed the media outlet that Parks is focusing on her book, "Secret of the Southern Belle: How to be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun, and Never Have an Off Moment." The book was released back in November 2013.
"I know that she’s promoting her book and doing the book tour and stuff like that and she’s not really trying to focus as much on what’s happening," said Burruss.
Although Parks is trying to avoid the problems with her husband, Nida has been a bit open about difficulties in the marriage.
Radar reported that when asked why his wife wasn't present for his sentencing on Tuesday at the Georgia US District Court, Nida said, "I don’t know. We have other issues. She had to go ahead and take care of our children."
Nida's eight year sentence for mail, wire, and bank fraud was originally 30 years for identity theft and money laundering that totaled up to $2.3 million.
