Television buffs are excited to hear the Emmy Nominations 2014 and see where their favorite shows stand. The 66th Emmy Awards will be held on August 25 and Seth Myers will host the much-anticipated event. Are you excited to find out which show has the most number of nominations?

If you guessed "Game of Thrones", then you are correct. It isn't surprising that the HBO series will lead the pack because almost everyone's hooked on this drama series. It has 19 nominations including "Best Drama Series". Peter Dinklage, who stars as Tyrion Lannister, is nominated for "Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" while Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister, will also vie for "Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series".

Coming in second with the most Emmy Nominations 2014 is "Breaking Bad" with just three award categories away from the "Game of Thrones". Apart from the two drama series that I've mentioned, "House of Cards", "Downtown Abbey", "Mad Men", and "True Detective" will also compete for the big award.

Speaking of "True Detective", co-stars Matthew McConaughey (Rust Cohle) and Woody Harrelson (Martin Hart) will go head to head for "Best Actor in a Drama Series". The two lead stars will be competing against veteran actor Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad).

This is the first Emmy nomination for McConaughey and his winning streak may continue in this award-giving body. The 44-year old actor recently won "Best Actor" at the Oscars and Golden Globe Awards for his portrayal of an AIDS victim in the 2013 film "Dallas Buyers Club".

Matthew McConaughey isn't the only first-timers in the Emmy Awards. Lizzy Caplan of "Masters of Sex" is nominated for "Lead Actress in a Drama Series". In an interview with ABC News, the 32-year old TV star revealed how excited she was about the nomination.

Caplan said, "I can safely say that this is one of the few phone calls a person wants to get at an ungodly hour. I am shocked and thrilled and shocked and really, really excited. Did I mention I'm shocked? Because I am shocked. Champagne before 6am is OK, right?"

Other first-timers include Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo) and Chiwetel Ejiofor of (Dancing on the Edge). What do you think of the Emmy Nominations 2014? Do these actors and TV shows deserve the recognition?
