Renowned director Guillermo del Toro will be very busy in the next couple of years. He is working on "Pacific Rim 2" which is scheduled for release in 2017. His new vampire series, "The Strain," will be aired by FX this summer, and the thriller movie "Crimson Peak" will be due in 2015.

This tight scheduled doesn't seem to be enough for the "Hellboy" director however. He will getting behind the camera for yet another monster movie.

Del Toro told Collider that he will be shooting a black and white "really really bizarre" movie before working on "Pacific Rim 2." He will begin filming in either February or March next year.

"..We start pre-production on 'Pacific Rim 2' in August, and then I interrupt it briefly to go into the first of next year to do this strange little movie," the acclaimed director told Collider about the mysterious film. "And then I restart it and go all the way until we start shooting 'Pacific Rim 2' at the end of 2015 for release in 2017."

"It does [have a title]," the "Pan's Labyrinth" director said about the upcoming black and white film. "But I find-I'd rather do the projects and then show them to people than talk about them. I think that it's going to be a nice thing for people to know which one is it and where it came from when it's a reality."

Although the helmer has not announced a cast yet, Collider reports del Toro is interested in "V For Vendetta" star John Hurt. He is also keeping an eye on an actress that he didn't name but has appeared in a short film and a feature.

Del Toro adds about the female actress, "That's all she's really done, one feature and one short, but she has an incredibly interesting taste and I'm gonna try her out for the main role."

In keeping up with his traditional supernatural characters, del Toro promised that the audience can expect "one great creature in it."
