The lifeless body of "Glee" star Becca Tobin's boyfriend Matt Bendik was discovered by a maid afternoon of Thursday in his Philadelphia Hotel Room.
First reported by TMZ, the Philadelphia Medical Examiner has confirmed to the entertainment site that the body of "Glee" star Becca Tobin's boyfriend was found. However, the cause of death has not been reported. The name of the hotel where Becca Tobin's boyfriend died has also not been released.
The 35-year-old nightclub owner was in Philadelphia with Tobin, who plays Kitty Wilde on FOX's hit series "Glee". The couple reportedly returned to the hotel Wednesday night after going out with friends. As of press time, there are no confirmations as to the whereabouts of Tobin when Bendik's body was found.
A friend of Bendik has also confirmed the news. One of the Hollywood nightclubs that Bendik worked at was DBA, which posted in their Twitter account late Thursday night a photo of their club signboard that read "WE LOVE YOU MATT".
Bendik's most successful nightclub stint was at ADDICTION Nightclub and Beachclub at The Modern Honolulu Hotel in Hawaii. As Director of Nightlife in the renowned VIP club, Bendik was able to channel everything he has known about being in the nightclub industry.
The Modern Honolulu Hotel previously reported that Bendik started managing nightclubs when he was only 14-years-old. Prior to studying at Cornell University, Bendik promoted Whiskey A Go Go at Sunset Strip after which he continued his nightclub management gig in Hollywood as managing partner of AV and Voyeur/DBA nightclubs.
The death of Becca Tobin's boyfriend is not the first tragedy linked to "Glee". It has been almost a year since Tobin's co-star Cory Monteith, who played lead star Finn Hudson, was found dead from a drug overdose in a Vancouver hotel room. Monteith was 31.
According to the British Columbia Coroners Service, Monteith died from a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol.
