A mother from Queens, New York has been charged with murder following the death of her 11-month-old son, Kiam Felix, Jr.
Nicole Kelly, 22, allegedly smothered her baby using old sheets and detailed her deed via her personal Facebook account.
She wrote, "I tucked his entire body underneath the sheet to make sure he couldn't breathe. I got in the shower and took a longer shower than usual. After I got out of the shower, I checked on him and he wasn't breathing. I cleaned out all of his stuff from the apartment and dressed him in his suit."
Police officials relayed Kelly's story and said that the young mother "snapped" at her child and "was done being his only caretaker," court papers stated.
Kelly allegedly posted a photo of her deceased child and wrote, "R.I.P Tinakbutt." However, police officials couldn't confirm whether the baby was really dead in the photo, according to the Huffington Post.
Meanwhile, in another photo, Kelly expressed her sadness over the loss of her son and wrote, "Missing my baby boy so much wish there was some way I could bring him back to life. I feel horrible knowing he passed away Am his Mother I was supposed to protect him I know his spirit will always be around me I would never forget my 1st Born he will forever remain in my heart & his family hearts R.I.P. KJ Am not ready O2 say goodbye to you."
As of late, Kelly is being held at the Elmhurst Hospital for psychiatric evaluation, the NY Post reported.
Prior to her admission, Kelly initially denied killing her son and said that what happened was merely an accident. Later on, she confessed to watching her son struggle for his life and stressed that she would rather have her son die than be with a foster family," the same publication revealed.
