Looks like tennis champ Novak Djokovic is set to have the best year ever-first he wins his second Wimbledon title and reclaims his No.1 ranking, and now he's married his fiancée Jelena Ristic. The two are also expecting their first child.
The Serbian athlete, 27, and model Ristic exchanged vows three days after Djokovic's Wimbledon win against Roger Federer.
"I would like to dedicate it to my future wife and our future baby," Djokovic said to reporters after his triumphant win. "I'm going to become a father soon and I'm preparing for that. It's a great joy in life."
Djokovic had previously announced in his Twitter in April that he and Ristic were expecting their first child together.
The civil ceremony was held at the Aman Sveti Stefan, a five-star resort in Montenegro. The couple invited around 100 guests, including various tennis greats Viktor Troicki, Janko Tipsarevic, Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic, Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray. Reports from Blic Online, a Serbia news outlet, suggested that Murray was Djokovic's best man.
Noticeably absent from the guest list are Djokovic's greatest rivals, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
According to reports, Djokovic and Ristic are high school sweethearts who began dating in 2005 and got engaged last September. A church wedding will follow on Saturday, this time a more private celebration with about 15 members of their family.
