LA Lakers news reports are buzzing about Linsanity possibly coming to Los Angeles, as Nick Young quietly agreed to a four-year deal worth $21.5 million.
NBA correspondent David Aldridge revealed the LA Lakers news when he wrote on his Twitter: "Nick Young's deal to remain in L.A. with the Lakers is $21.5 million over four years, with a fourth year player option."
In his own Twitter account, Nick Young-who calls himself Swaggy P-also confirmed the news with a simple tweet: "God is great."
He quickly followed that up with this tweet: "Thank you LakerNation for all your support, I'm very happy to say: I'm home! #SwaggyIsBack #GreatThingsToCome for the Lakers."
In related LA Lakers news, Jeremy Lin, whose exploits as a the former New York Knicks point guard earned him the nickname "Linsanity," was traded to the Purple and Gold from the Houston Rockets, ESPN reported.
Jeremy Lin averaged 12.5 points and 4.1 assists for the Houston Rockets last year.
In a tweet, ESPN's Jeff Goodman wrote: "Rockets have dealt Jeremy Lin and a future first-rounder to Lakers, sources told ESPN. Houston clearing space to land Bosh, keep Parsons."
Jeff Goodman explained that it's a salary dump for the Rockets in order to free up more cash in their attempt to get Chris Bosh. The Houston Rockets offered the Miami Heat forward the max $88 million, although the 6-11 forward/center will reportedly re-sign with Pat Riley.
The Rockets also need to dump the $15 million remaining in Jeremy Lin's contract to pursue Chandler Parsons who signed with the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week. Chandler Parsons is a restricted free agent so the Houston Rockets are expected to match that offer.
The LA Lakers news was confirmed by Yahoo Sports writer Adrian Wojnarowski in his Twitter: "The Lakers will send cash and rights to overseas player to the Rockets, but no salary back, league source tells Yahoo."
