"Fast and Furious 7" has finished shooting, eight months after actor Paul Walker's death put the production on hold.
The long and emotional road for the "Fast and Furious 7" cast and crew ended on Friday, with director James Wan wrapping up the reshoots required to finish the film with the help of Walker's brothers, Caleb and Cody.
Wan took to social media to celebrate the final shot filmed.
"AND THAT'S A WRAAAAPPP!!!!!!!! Principal photography for Fast & Furious 7 is officially over," Wan posted on his Twitter account.
Actress Michelle Rodriguez posted a photo of her with actor Vin Diesel, to announce shoot's completion on her Facebook page.
"15 years later Ride or Die through thick and thin we finally finished the hardest emotional roller coaster, #FF7," Rodriguez wrote. "Hope to make you proud P, love you."
Meanwhile, Universal's official "Fast 7" Facebook page jumped the gun on celebrating the final shot a day early.
The staff especially thanked the film's fans, saying that it was the followers' "love and strength" that got the team to the finish line following the tragedy that brought the cast and crew to their knees.
"We wanted to take this moment to express how thankful we are for your support. We felt the love and strength from our fans throughout this journey, and it's because of you that we got here," the film's staff said in a Facebook post. "There was a time when we didn't know how we could go on, or even if we should. But we listened to you, and you inspired us not only to keep going but to try and make the best FAST & FURIOUS movie yet."
The seventh installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise will hit theaters on April 3.
