Charlie Hunnam was reported to be stepping down from being Christian Grey on the controversial book and movie "Fifty Shades of Grey." According to rumors, Hunnam and Universal Pictures did not meet eye-to-eye over the direction of the script.
There are also other rumors that he was asked to step down following a lot of negative reaction to the announcement that Charlie would be portraying Christian.
"I am doing good. I am just really concentrating on work. It's been a really busy time," Hunnam told the press, also opening up about his father's recent passing. "I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive."
A lot of fans were disappointed about Charlie dropping out of the lead role- this includes Charlie himself. Hunnam speaks about the role he left behind, calling the decision to drop out of the adaptation of E.L. James' best-seller "heartbreaking."
"I felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it on in the first place," he said. "When you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it's heartbreaking not to be able to play him. It was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life."
