Captain Hook's role will be played live by the famous actor Christopher Walken. NBC has selected Walken to play the popular villainous character in the network's next live musical, entitled "Peter Pan."

Robert Greenblatt, the Chairman of NBC Entertainment, has revealed on Sunday that the veteran actor will be playing the role of the scary Captain Hook, during the Television Critics Association press tour.

Although Christopher Walken is renowned for his acting skills in various types of drama, he actually has a long history of dancing and singing in show business. He was part of the cast of 1981's "Pennies from Heaven", 2007's "Hairspray", and 2014's "Jersey Boys." Plus, this new Captain Hook actor has also had some appearances on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

Greenblatt informed a panel of critics, "He might really be a song and dance man at heart. He's fearless as a comedic actor and always comes to play. I guarantee you he's going to bring his own spin to Captain Hook. He might be the 1st tap-dancing Captain Hook."

With regards to the other members of the cast who will be joining Captain Hook, Greenblatt has confirmed that he is still presently looking for a female actress. He also revealed that he wanted to cast Kristen Bell from "Frozen" as Pan, but that he had to let this intention go. He said, "We've actually had several women who wanted to do it, but they're either busy or their schedules don't work. It's not like we can film this at any time. I need that person from Aug. 5 to Dec. 5, and so that knocks out the Kristen Bells of the world - who is someone that I talked to about doing it and she was interested, but she's doing "House of Lies". It's tricky finding the right person, but we're actually close."
