It has been a year since the lifeless body of "Glee" lead character Finn was found in a Vancouver hotel room, and members of the hit Fox show commemorated Cory Monteith's death anniversary by posting online their special messages for their former co-star.
As Sunday, July 13 marked the one-year anniversary of Monteith's passing, an outpour of love from fans and co-workers honored the Canadian actor, according to Hollywood Reporter. The online tribute was led by Monteith's former girlfriend, Lea Michele, who played his love interest, Rachel Berry.
Berry posted a photo of her and Monteith and posted a touching message: ""We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always".
An autopsy has revealed that the actor, who was then only 31-years-old, died of mixed drug toxicity involving "intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol."
Reports from Hollywood Life and Perezhilton.com also disclosed that Berry spent Cory Monteith's death anniversary by relaxing with some close friends at Santa Barbara.
"She grieved for a little bit, but she mostly watched TV, some movies and hung out with Matthew," the reports said.
Matthew Paetz is Berry's new boyfriend and is a former real estate agent turned dating and lifestyle coach. The two announced that they're a couple just last June.
"She spent the weekend and the day of with some friends and Matt, but she didn't want to be out and about or on the beach or partying because she knows that would have been taken the wrong way," a source revealed to Hollywood Life.
Cory Monteith's death anniversary had the actor's former "Glee" workmates profess all over Twitter and Instagram how much they love and miss their lead actor.
A character that helped influence Monteith's character Finn was Glee club teacher Will Schuester, played by Matthew Morrison. "Happy Birthday my friend ... I miss you," Morrison wrote, adding later: "I personally believe Cory was reborn into some other beautiful form a year ago today. I celebrate him and his life... Wherever that may be".
Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy posted on Twitter early Sunday a title card with a short caption that read, "Miss you".
Kevin McHale, who plays Artie, honored Monteith with a note. "It's been 1 whole year & it's still so surreal, but today is just a reminder of how damn great you were and how much you mean to us all," he expressed.
Playing Tina since season one, Jenna Ushkowitz, posted a photo from the "Glee" set with the entire cast. "365 days since you've gone and not a day passes we don't remember your smiling face. We miss you," she said.
The final 13-episode season of Glee will return on Fox midseason.
