NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver has stated that the association currently has no plans to set up a franchise based in the sin city. However, Silver has made it clear the association might consider a sin city franchise in the future.

Upon meeting with MGM and AEG officers on Monday, Silver has determined the arena as the key factor in enhancing Las Vegas' eligibility for a national franchise.

Silver caught up with reporters, saying:

"It's great to see Vegas on its way back,"

"It's a great destination for us and our teams."

Mark Cuban refuted Silver's insights, as according to the former, questions still arise as to the city's eligibility, despite the having the arena as a qualifying back-up.

"The NBA certainly looks at it."

"But the challenge isn't which city. The challenge is should we expand. The biggest issue with Las Vegas is it's such a transient community and people work at night."

Cuban has reportedly said

He further added,

"It's something I've talked to the players association and the players about,"

"They seem very excited. They enjoy coming to Las Vegas. I think doing some type of awards show here along with entertainment could be a big event. So I could see adding that to the Las Vegas calendar."

Silver responded to what Cuban had to say, by stating that

"I could imagine that if we were to look at some sort of mid-season tournament, I could imagine doing something in Vegas,"

"This would be a terrific neutral site location."
