Award-winning actress Sandra Bullock's intruder gave her a chilling confrontation as he trespassed her Los Angeles home last June 8 at around 1AM.
According to NY Daily News, Sandra Bullock's intruder is said to be 39-year-old Joshua Corbett. The stalker allegedly broke into the actress' house and came almost face-to-face with his victim, who had then just finished taking a shower and was getting ready for bed before hearing "loud bangs".
When the bangs got louder, the actress fearfully closed her bedroom door. It was then when she saw Corbett near her bedroom, and immediately she locked herself inside and hurriedly called the cops.
Police arrived soon after and took away Sandra Bullock's intruder, who even yelled out as he was apprehended "Sandy, I'm sorry, please don't press charges".
Sandra Bullock's intruder allegedly bought with him a notebook with photos of the actress and love letters with disturbing messages: "You are very special to me and without you in my life there is only misery".
Another read: "I will forever be thinking of you and Louie my son as you are my wife by law, the law of God and you belong to me and me to you".
One note revealed that Corbett previously visited Bullock's house and watched her return from a gala event: "I forgive you for anything you may have done and only want the chance to love you as you have so made me feel," the note said.
A Utah concealed firearm permit was also confiscated from Corbett, who reportedly broke into Bullock's house through locked sunroom glass doors after climbing a chain-link fence topped with barbed wire, police said. Investigation also revealed that Sandra Bullock's intruder was inside the actress' house for more than an hour before he was found. Police have not disclosed whether Bullock's young son was also home at the time of the incident.
Armed with warrants, the police searched both Corbett's house in La Cresenta, California and a safe and storage unit in Burbank. CNN reported that after the search, police discovered that Corbett allegedly owns "an arsenal of weapons" that included half a dozen illegal machine guns.
This discovery will make Sandra Bullock's intruder face much more serious charges on top of the stalking case filed against him, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.
Sandra Bullock's intruder now faces 19 felony counts, including seven counts of possession of a machine gun, two counts of possession of an assault weapon, and 10 counts of possession of a destructive device, the prosecutor's spokeswoman said.
A judge has raised his bond from $185,000 to $2.2 million Wednesday. Corbett has pleaded not guilty and is being held in the Los Angeles County jail.
If convicted, the charges carry a potential maximum of 12 years in prison, said Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall.
