Sherri Shepherd Latest News: Former "The View" co-host is in the midst of a divorce battle with her estranged husband, Lamar Sally. After being ousted from ABC's talk show, there is a report from TMZ that Shepherd wants nothing to do with the unborn child anymore.

According to Classicalite, multiple sources connected with the couple said that "Shepherd does not want anything to do with her unborn surrogate baby...because she believes her estranged husband defrauded her into having the kid in the first place so he could get child support. The baby was conceived with Lamar's sperm, but NOT Sherri's egg...Sherri wants a judge to rule she has no parental rights or responsibilities--which would shut the door to child support."

Reportedly, the baby, who's set to be born later this month, was formed through the union of a donated egg and Sally's sperm.

Sanford Benardo, founder and president of Northeast Assisted Fertility Group and who is also a lawyer who specializes in hooking up surrogates and egg donors with prospective parents said that Shepherd "might be able to absolve herself of legal responsibility."

"What may happen is social services may get involved," he told New York Post which implied that the child could wind up in foster care.

"Why spend $150,000 to create a baby who would otherwise never have been born, then mess it up like this? It's disaster," he added.

On top of the divorce drama that Shepherd is currently going thru, Shepherd's former husband Jeff Tarpley is also exposing her mothering skills according to Guardian Liberty Voice. Report says that Tarpley is seeking full custody of the couple's nine-year-old son Jeffrey Jr. according to court documents filed last month in Los Angeles. Jeff Tarpley claims in court documents that due to Shepherd's busy schedule as a television host and touring stand-up comedienne, their son, Jeffrey, has been suffering from neglect, is falling behind in school, suffers poor hygiene, and is reading below grade level. Little Jeffrey, who has special needs, was left to the care of "unfit nannies" based on Tarpley's accusations. The father also says the boy wears velcro shoes because the nine-year-old has not learned how to tie his own shoes.

A hearing has been set for July 21 to address Jeff Tarpley's claims. The pair had been divorced since 2011.
