Which device is the ideal purchase for consumers: We pit the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phablet against the Nokia Lumia 920 smartphone to see which is smartphone is the better choice.

For the design and display, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a Super AMOLED display that measures 5.5 inches and renders a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Its dimensions are 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm and it weighs 183 grams.

Meanwhile, the Nokia Lumia 920 has an IPS LCD display measuring at 4.5 inches and has a slightly superior resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. Its the dimensions: 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7 mm and weighs 185 grams.

In terms of hardware and OS, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is equipped with a quad core processor (the Cortex A9) clocked at 1.6 GHz and the Quad 4412 Exynos chipset. It has 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (there is no microSD slot, meaning that the memory is not expandable). It runs on the Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 OS.

For battery usage and camera specs, The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery unit estimated to last around 16 hours of talking time (3G), while the Nokia Lumia 920 has a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery unit that can last up to 10 hours of talking time (3G).

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has an 8MP rear-facing camera that features both autofocus and LED flash, while the Nokia Lumia 920 has an 8MP one (with Carl Zeiss optics) that has features like: autofocus, dual-LED flash and optical image stabilization. The Galaxy Note 2 has a 1.9MP front-facing camera, while the Lumia 920 has a 1.3MP one.
