James Bond fans can't wait for the new movie "Bond 24."
As of writing, producers have yet to choose who will play alongside Daniel Craig in the new movie. However, previous reports have already tagged the names of A-Listers Daniel Radcliffe, Kevin Spacey and Ron Perlman to play the Bond villain.
Aside from that, fans are also eager to know who will play the Bond girl in "Bond 24." Previous James Bond movies have casted the likes of Halle Berry, Denise Richards and Eva Green to spice things up a bit.
And now that "Bond 24's" release date is nearing, reports are starting to circulate that the studio has narrowed down their Bond girl choices to two of the hottest female celebrities to date- Kate Upton and Penelope Cruz.
According to The Sun, ""Bond bosses have been chasing her [Penelope Cruz] since Daniel became 007 in 2006. But schedules and her pregnancies meant it never materialised. At this stage no one at Sony will confirm it."
It would seem that Sony has been eyeing Cruz for a long time now, but that doesn't hide the fact that Kate Upton is a viable bet for the role.
Upton has expressed her interest to play the role, but has admitted that it will take her a lot of training to get ready for the role.
"It's a very prestigious title, and it would be a very cool role. I would need to go through some intense training to learn all the Bond Girl moves," she admitted.
Meanwhile, other reports have claimed that "Bond 24's" plot will continue from "Skyfall." Director Sam Mendes hinted on some movie details in a recent interview with Vulture.
"Hopefully we'll reclaim some of the old irony, and make sure it doesn't become pastiche. I can't do shtick, I'm not very good at it. Unless it kind of suddenly makes sense. Does that make sense? I sometimes wish I hammed it up more, but I just can't do it very well, so I don't do it."
On the other hand, writer John Logan has also shared some information about "Bond 24" in an interview with Empire.
"The great thing about Bond is that I have fifty years of movies - 23 movies and all the Ian Fleming novels and short stories, all of which are fodder. And when I'm working on the new Bond I'm constantly going back to Fleming and the other movies - what are the bits and pieces, what are the resonances? One of the things we learned in Skyfall is that the audience really enjoyed those, they enjoyed when they saw the Aston Martin, they enjoyed when we had references to things they grew up with, either from Ian Fleming or from the other movies, and that's always been a part of my thinking about Bond."
