As the NBA Summer League playoffs start to eliminate teams off the competition for Friday, very few viewing alternatives have become available for Syracuse University fans wishing to watch the match against the Orange connections.

The Sixers lost 79-68, to Chicago Bulls, on Thursday night. Jerami Grant was the top choice for 39th pick in the Sixers the previous month. He has played in pertinent minutes with the Sixers in the previous summer league seasons.

On the other hand, on Thursday, the Charlotte Hornets triumphed against the New Orleans Pelicans, 104-75. This loss has caused the Pelicans to be booted out of the competition.

James Souterland missed this game he could have rooting for in favor of the Pelicans. The Pelicans appointed Omer Asik and veteran small forward, John Salmons, in place of Southerland.

Southerland has committed that he would attend more training workouts during the summer in order to make a great impression on the team.

Southerland is expected to take on an invitation to participate in the training camp, considering he has not performed up to par in sin city's summer league. Souterland would get all the support he can get from coaches, team staff and fans. He would need to put confidence in himself in his ability to achieve at his optimal best in the training camp.

Southerland would also need to take initiatives in thinking out of the box when it comes to honing his talents in training camp. Others can help him, but he is the one who can help himself the most.
