Wentworth Miller is heading back to the small screen! He'll be appearing in the new CW show, The Flash and will appear in the series' fourth episode.

News of Miller's casting was revealed during the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Beverly Hills. The Prison Break alum, 42, will portray the role of Leonard Start, also known as The Flash's rival, Captain Cold.

Captain Cold is from the original comics and will challenge The Flash, played by Glee alum Grant Gustin. He first played the role in another CW show, Arrow.

The spinoff, premiering October 7, will see Barry Allen (Gustin), an assistant police forensic investigator, visiting Starling City to probe into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. He'll get into a freak accident and will be granted the incredible power of superspeed, making him the fastest man in the world.

The Prison Break alum will join the cast along with Gustin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett and John Wesley Shipp.

The series is said to stay as faithful to the original comics as possible. "We've incorporated almost everything from the mythology into it and added a whole new backstory," said executive producer and COO of DC Comics Geoff Johns to reporters. "It's probably the most faithful DC adaptation ever."
