Sherri Shepherd Latest News: The soon-to-be former co-host of The View is taking her exit lightly. Reportedly, she dished out being gloomy about it and decided to look at things in a positive way. According to Fashion Times, Shepherd, 47, is "excited" and "giddy" about leaving ABC's talk show.

"I'm very, very excited. My last day is August 7th and I'm giddy," she shared. "I'm very, very excited. My last day is August 7th and I'm giddy," she added. "I've gotten Barbara Walters' blessing and I am so joyful. It is time to leave and time to fly and you can't grow without change so I am not supposed to be at The View next year. I am just happy."

The comedienne talked about her future plans with Us Weekly while attending Wendy William's birthday party last July 17.

"Excitement is going through my mind because the sky is the limit with possibilities. You can't grow without change," she told the publication. "You will stay the same and it will not be good. I'm all about running towards things that you fear. I'm so grateful that Barbara Walters gave me the opportunity for seven years and they've prepared me for whatever comes."

"The View," revealed in a statement to Us Weekly on June 26 that Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy are leaving the show.

"The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively," ABC stated.

Shepherd has been with the show for 7 years while McCarthy has only been a co-host for one season.

"It's been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on," Shepherd said in a personal statement to Deadline. "I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey."

The TV personality related the significance of her 7-year stay with the show to something biblical after she announced that she's leaving the show. "Seven in the Bible is the number of God's completion. And I've been here seven years and my time at The View is complete," Sherri said according to Deadline.
