The Philadelphia 76ers has had a busy week so far. The team participated in 11 games within a 14 day time period in between Orlando and Las Vegas summer leagues.
The Sixers scored 4-1 in Orlando, and 2-4 in Las Vegas. The team was crowned the winner of the Orlando Pro Summer League championship. None of the players received greater attention than center player, Nerlens Noel.
Noel, the top six pick in 2013, was not able to play previously during the entire season, as he recovers from a left knee surgery.
On July 5, he was introduced professionally in Orlando, and scored 19 points, 3 assists, one pair of rebounds, four steals and a single block.
In an interview with Sixers.com, Noel commented on his own progress:
"I thought I played well,"
"I have to continue to keep working on the things that I have to and keep building up my body to get ready for the regular season."
Point guard Casper Ware joined Noel in basking in the glory of being recognized for his professionalism.
Sixers coach Lloyd Pierce, was all praises for the point guard's excellence, saying:
"It's confidence."
"He's our leader, he's running the show, his confidence is coming out, he's comfortable, and I think the further along he goes as a point guard, guys will rely on him, and he accepts the challenge."
The Sixers seemed to be moving in to the right direction as their star players shine through the tournament. Fans are hopeful the team will gain more than what it has bargained for in the coming regular season.
