There's consolation for those who can't wait for the 2015 Halo 5: Guardians' release date; there's a multiplayer coming out on December 2014.
It's a very long wait to the Halo 5 launch, longer than most gamers are willing to wait for. The game's launch is pushed to the end of 2015; Halo fans need not hibernate in the meantime, though.
A fall 2015 release was previously announced by Halo Waypoint, but recent information at the Microsoft Store holds it back until winter.
343 Industries has confirmed the release of a playable beta, and any gains players get from the sample are carried over to the official Halo 5 release. Not bad, and players get unlimited play until they finally get their hands on the complete game.
The beta release is offered for a limited time only, though, and expires January 22, 2015. 343 Industries General Manager Bonnie Ross posted to the Xbox website in May, with an initial announcement for the Halo 5: Guardians' release date.
"I'm happy to reveal that 'Halo 5: Guardians,' the next installment in the legendary saga of the Master Chief, will launch on Xbox One in fall of 2015. In the tradition of every 'Halo' game since its debut in 2001, it is a massive and exciting project."
"'Halo 5: Guardians' is a bigger effort than 'Halo 4.' That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what's now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we've invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen."
Halo creators intend to tide fans in the meantime by releasing the "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" on November 11. The compilation includes all four Halo installments, ported over unadulterated on the Xbox One (ecumenicalnews.com).
