Developers (and users) can now download Apple iOS 8 Beta 4.
Apple is seeding its newest update to the iOS 8 to developers, also to users who want to download and try the iOS 8 beta 4 on current-gen iPhones, iPods, and iPads. Users install the Beta at their own risk, though, as the update is sure to come with bugs and glitches.
The last Beta release for the iOS 8 was two weeks ago, and developers expect numerous fixes and tweaks to the update. A new User Interface is the notable difference to find after downloading Apple iOS 8 beta 4, overhauling the layout for the Control Center.
Most of the bug fixes improve the OS stability, also addressing nagging issues discovered in Beta 3. While the update is serviceable enough even for non-developers, bugs are expected and will be fixed with future updates, completed in the final release.
Developers can download Apple iOS 8 Beta 4 Over-The-Air (OTA), then installed on top of the current Beta Build. It can also be downloaded from the Apple developer portal, then installed through iTunes.
As always, there's the option to roll back to the stable iOS 7.1, especially for non-developers who've sampled as much from the iOS 8 Beta builds. The final iOS 8 update is scheduled to launch in September, presumably at the same time the iPhone 6 comes out.
The fixes to the new Beta are numerous as expected, most of which are primarily useful to developers who want to improve or update apps for Apple devices. Significant additions to the update include Live Text Dictation, which writes an on-screen transcript of speech dictated to the device, in real time. The feature still doesn't work offline, though.
A different Control Center design, swipe gesture function for the Mail App, and improved, streamlined animations for the OS are the standout improvements developers can utilize after the download Apple iOS 8 Beta 4 (idownloadblog.com).
