Following his Instagram account and as reported by Hollywood Life, the 20-year-old singer uploaded on the photo-sharing site a campaign photo of clothing brand Guess and captioned it, "Who is this Guess Model? She's Stunning". While the shout-out could have been to just ask his close to 18 million Instagram followers for help in identifying Justin Bieber's new crush, there are speculations that the post was intended to make his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez jealous.
Justin Bieber's new crush as posted in the Canadian pop star's Instagram account was later identified to be model Danielle Knudson. The 28-year-old Guess Girl responded by reposting Biebs' Instagram pic, saying: "#Repost from @justinbieber Thanks for the shout out my fellow Canadian".
The original Instagram post of Justin Bieber's new crush somewhat shows that the photo was taken by the pop star while inside a mall, as it showed a faded reflection of a designer brand's store signage.
A report and photos from X17 Online also said the Biebs was inside the mall at the time the Instagram post went online, thus making it appear like Bieber just randomly saw Knudson's photo at a Guess store, took a photo of it, and uploaded it online.
While the posting of Justin Bieber's new crush could very well just be a random expression of admiration by the pop star, some speculate that the move might just be to get the attention of his ex-girlfriend Gomez.
In an analysis by Hollywood Life, Bieber's choice to use the word "stunning" to describe Knudson is being questioned as a direct diss to Gomez. Just last Saturday, German model Andre Hamann announced on his Twitter page that he has a crush on Gomez, also describing her as "stunning".
Selena Gomez has been gamely responding to Hamann's sweet gesture, which included a video of him serenading her. A report from Hollywood Gossip said the "Come And Get It" singer replied on Hamann's account by posting: "Thank you, made my night," along with an emoticon of a blushing face.
