Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard's wedding materialized a month ago. According to People, the couple tied the knot before more than 1,000 guests at the Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas last June 21. And as the old phrase goes, "Time flies when you're having fun." It seems that the couple is really having enjoyable moments together. Let's recall their nuptials as we celebrate with them in their first month.
The Duggar Family Blog noted that both Jill and Derick had their say in the arrangements for their special event. According to Lily and Ellie, who run the site, the couple had a clear idea of what they wanted for their wedding.
"I just love watching a bride and groom [who] know what they want and just needing to translate that to a wedding coordinator and then have the wedding coordinator execute it. They really were that awesome team that said, 'Here's what we want. Can we do it?' So we did," Sierra, one of the party planners that helped with the Duggar family wedding said.
Breathecast reported that the pair added their own touches to the design. They displayed Grandma Duggar's wedding dress and also Derick's late father's police uniform.
According to E! News, because of their shared Christian faith, the couple didn't hold hands until they got engaged, and Jill and Derick saved their first kiss for after their wedding vows. The 19 Kids and Counting star and her beau sealed their promises with their very first kiss.
"I think it is safer and makes it more special to wait to kiss until your wedding day. To save the physical side of your marriage for your wedding day and not going further than you should - we want to have no regrets," Duggar told People.
"You can really get to know each other on every level without the physical part of it. I am the most blessed man to have Jill," Dillard said as he expressed his thoughts in enjoying the wait to share their first kiss.
Reportedly, Jill and Derick enjoyed their honeymoon in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. After their first alone time together, the couple settled to domesticated life and started their penny pinching practices.
People noted that the couple first met in Nepal in November after remotely communicating with one another via email and Skype. They began courting for five months before getting engaged.
