Sad, sad news. Singer Ariana Grande shared to her fans that her grandfather has lost his battle with cancer.
The 21-year-old took to Twitter to reveal the devastating news, and thanked the people who supported her through this difficult time.
"I lost you to the summer wind," she wrote late Tuesday evening.
"Thaaaanks to my best friends who stayed up with me all night talking and helped me pull myself together temporarily this am. Flyin back home."
But despite his grandfather's death, the young diva still went on to appear on Good Morning America on Wednesday.
"Only reason I made this twelve hour trip is grandps told me he wanted me to always be professional & fulfill my business commitments," she clarified on her social media account.
"Thank you for your continuous love & light over the past few weeks...we did lose my favorite person to ever exist yesterday, my grandpa. If only y'all knew how amazing he was...my [heart] hurts so much. It's beyond broken but I got to hold his hand and watch him find his peace."
The Problem singer shared, "This is the hardest thing imaginable but I'm so grateful that I got to spend time with him & my family. Taking care of him & loving him. We thank you so much for the continuous love."
Before her grandfather's passing, Ariana Grande was able to spend some time with her grandparents during Independence Day when she traveled back to her Florida hometown.
She also uploaded several photos of family members at her grandfather's beside and gave gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.
