The Lana del Rey tour gets a controversial boost, with the performer's scintillating comments in a recent interview.
The Lana del Rey tour is the result of hard work, but the singer also admitted she used her charms and her body to climb her way to the top of the music industry.
In an interview for Complex magazine's August and September issues, she admits she's slept with a lot of men in the industry in exchange for preference and favor.
Lana says her song "F*cked My Way Up To The Top" is practically literal, but it also didn't earn her the benefits she wanted or expected.
"It's commentary, like, 'I know what you think of me,' and I'm alluding to that," she says. "You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying."
It turned out working your way to the top involves the same formula of hard work, and hard luck. The Lana del Rey tour is currently international, which means the singer has made it, almost.
Lana's relationships are also controversial to say the least. She was rumored to have hooked up with Marilyn Manson, rapper A$AP Rocky and Axl Rose, after a failed engagement to Barrie James-O'Neil.
The interview also revealed her expectations coming into relationships, factors which influenced the concept and title of her "Ultraviolence" album.
"I like a physical love. I like a hands-on love. How can I say this without getting into too much trouble? I like a tangible, passionate love. For me, if it isn't physical, I'm not interested. ... I feel connected to two emotions -- aggression and softness. I like that luxe sound of the word 'ultra' and the mean sound of the word 'violence' together. I like that two worlds can live in one."
The Lana del Rey tour continues in European venues this August, amidst rumors she's dating Vogue photographer Francesco Carrozzin (etonline.com).
