The cast of Fast & Furious 7, the franchise's 7th installment, just wrapped up filming recently, and it has admittedly been a difficult ride as they also had to deal with the untimely passing of one of the movie's leads, Paul Walker mid-production.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, one of the actors in the film has expressed his sadness at the sudden loss. "Anytime you lose a loved one, it's tough and we all deal with it in our own certain way," he told the Press Association, talking about his friend's death in 2013. "I think the studio was very challenged to try and work out how we were going to continue to make that movie without Paul, which was a very challenging and difficult thing to do."
Walker, 40, passed away in a tragic car crash back in November. He had already shot some scenes for Fast 7 at the time of his passing, and to honor the late actor, his brothers Cody and Caleb Walker shouldered the responsibility of portraying his role.
"I feel like this version of the Fast & Furious movie is going to be very special," Johnson said. "It's going to be emotional and I think audience are going to appreciate it."
The latest installment of the franchise will premiere in April 2015. Meanwhile, the former WWE star is currently promoting his new film, Hercules, where he plays the Greek half-god. The movie debuts this week.
Johnson talked about the big transformation he had to undergo to portray the iconic role. He took 22 weeks to build his body, with a seven-meals-daily diet as well as two hour workouts everyday.
""I've been in the business for 15 years. And I have never had the opportunity to transform into something like this before," says Johnson. "It opened my eyes to the level of detail required."
