Portia De Rossi's rehab treatment was recently completed, said a report from Webpronews. The 30-day rehab program of Ellen DeGeneres' wife aimed to treat the alcohol and drug use issues of the actress, who was also confirmed to be the latest addition to the hit TV series "Scandal".
Portia De Rossi's rehab treatment was said to have been triggered by marital problems between her and DeGeneres, which included rumors that the talk show host was cheating on her wife and that ugly fights were common in their house.
The marital issues apparently caused Portia De Rossi to take alcohol and prescription drugs to deal with being "unhappy". Portia is said to have blamed Ellen DeGeneres, that her controlling ways drove the actress to drink.
At the height of everything, Portia De Rossi's rehab stay was finalized at the Passages in Malibu, a sign that the couple is taking steps at working out their relationship.
De Rossi checked herself in at May to get treatment, while wife DeGeneres was seen giving support to her her for all the weekends she was in treatment.
DeGeneres herself has also allegedly quit drinking to support her wife.
Now out of rehab, De Rossi is looking forward to being part of season four of "Scandal", starring Kerry Washington.
According to De Rossi's publicist, the actress will join the cast for a secret story arc that is is set to star in multiple episodes.
DeGeneres announced the news by bpasting on Twitter about Portia's new acting role, tweeting: "So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on "Scandal". Oops."
De Rossi's camp hopes the new acting role will bring the actress some good press.
