The producers are gearing up for "Mission Impossible 5" trying to complete their cast lineup and the places where they will shoot. It was reported that the sequel was one of the two films that were granted access to the UK Parliament. The other movie was Meryl Streep's "Suffragette" which will be released in 2015.
A source told Radio Times, "The Houses of Parliament is clearly the biggest coup... the writers are excited about what stunts they could pull off inside the Commons." The insider also revealed, "A few items are set to be filmed around London, including a motorbike chase down The Mall, followed by a boat chase scene along The Thames. They are also going to do some work around the Emirates Cable Cars."
Before the cast and crew of "Mission Impossible 5" head to London, KFTV reported that they will go to Vienna first to shoot some scenes. Many Hollywood films were shot in this beautiful city, including "Before Sunrise", "The Three Musketeers", "Batman & Robin", and "360".
Vienna is a romantic city so they may probably film some of Tom Cruise's scenes with his new leading lady. The "Mission Impossible 5" producers recently announced the actress who landed the lead female role. They were reports that they offered the role to Jessica Chastain, who starred in "Zero Dark Thirty".
Many people were surprised to find out that the producers gave the role to a newcomer. Deadline revealed that Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson, who is best known for her role as Queen Elizabeth in the miniseries "The White Queen", is set to star alongside Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible 5".
The website reported, "Official details of her character (including the name) are still unavailable, but during the rumors of Chastain being courted the role was described as 'Tom Cruise's right hand woman.' Presumably that refers to her character and Ferguson won't just be Cruise's PA on set."
Also in talks to join the "Mission Impossible 5" is veteran actor Alec Baldwin, who recently finished filming "Still Alice" with Julianne Moore and Kristen Stewart. He may play the head of the CIA in the new sequel. Other confirmed actors to return to the movie are Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg.
"Mission: Impossible 5" will hit the theaters on Christmas day of 2015.
