Miguel Cotto's next fight could also be against Gennady Golovkin, while "GGG" himself agrees that it will be the next big match-up in boxing.

Gennady Golovkin is fresh off a victory against Daniel Geale, and retained his WBA & IBO middleweight titles on Saturday night, in front of thousands in attendance at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

"GGG" put on a dominant performance wherein he stopped his opponent in the third round, to rack up his 30th straight victory and keep his undefeated slate.

In a report by Bad Left Hook, the 32-year old Kazakh fighter is only targeting bigger fights as he moves forward with his illustrious career.

"My focus is at 160 right now. I want a unification fight," Golovkin explained. "For me, it's very important, who's the best in the middleweight division? Who are the champions right now? A lot of champions. Miguel Cotto, Peter Quillin, Sam Soliman."

"Guys, you need show? You need amazing show? Just call me," he continued. "I'll stay here. I'm ready for everybody."

Miguel Cotto's next fight has been announced for December, with no named opponent as of this posting. Two of the top names slated to fight the newly crowned WBC middleweight champion is Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who is also coming off a victory against gritty Cuban boxer Erislandy Lara, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

"There are many names on the list, obviously Canelo and Chavez stick out, but we are waiting [to see what happens]," Cotto said. "This is a business, my business and I will ensure the best opportunity for Miguel Cotto. But it is a fact, the Mexico-Puerto Rico rivalry can be rekindled."

But with "GGG's" recent victory, the doors for the aforementioned possible match-up have opened up. And while Miguel Cotto's next fight has yet to be finalized, Gennady Golovkin himself is open with the idea.

"Miguel Cotto. 100%, I respect him, I respect his style," Golovkin added. "This is the biggest fight for everybody. For TV, for my fans, for everybody. For boxing.
