This year KCON has put k-dramas in the spotlight, with appearances by top stars, acting idols and k-drama panels.

Several top k-drama stars will appear at the convention. Yoo In Na, who was last seen in "You Who Came From The Stars" and will soon appear in "Secret Hotel," will be present. Lee Seung Gi, who just finished "You're All Surrounded" and will soon star in the film "Today's Love," will be there. And Lee Seo Jin, who starred in the hit drama "Wonderful Days."

And plenty of idol actors will participate too, including IU, who recently starred in "Pretty Man." CNBLUE will perform and all the band's members have acted, with Jung Yong Hwa, preparing for "The Three Musketeers" and Lee Jung Shin in "Temptation. Kang Min Hyuk was last seen in "The Heirs" and Lee Jong Hyun was seen in "A Gentleman's Dignity." All the members of Girls Generation have appeared in a drama at the very least in a cameo role and Sooyoung, Yoona and Yuri have leading roles to their credit. Baro of B1A4 was last seen in "God's Gift - 14 Days."

The convention won't only include a chance to see these k-drama stars up close and most of them on stage. There will be panels on all aspects of k-dramas.

One of this year's panels focuses on female characters and is titled "Women in K-Dramas." If you've ever wanted to discuss the Cinderella syndrome in k-dramas, this one is for you. There will be a panel on drama soundtracks titled "Beyond 'Almost Paradise.'" If you never saw "Boys Over Flowers," that song is a very insistent part of the soundtrack.

Another panel will cover k-drama fashion and k-drama inspired trends. That panel is "How K-Dramas Worldwide Influence Food and Fashion." From the trend of eating fried chicken in China to the skyrocketing sales for Jun Ji Hyun's lipstick, this will cover it all.

Another panel will feature "K-Drama Language." That's definitely a good one to attend with your unni.

There will be a panel exploring second lead syndrome and another one asking, "Why Do K-Dramas Do That?"

So whether you've seen dozens of dramas or are getting started, there's a panel for everyone. Panelists include bloggers and k-drama writers who have the inside scoop.

Kdramastars will be there, covering the convention for you. So, if you are not one of the lucky fans who can go to KCON, check kdramastars and Kpopstarz for the latest updates.
