"The Good Wife" season 6 spoilers confirmed that Carrie Preston is going to be back as Elsbeth Tascioni, although it's not clear for how long. Nathan Lane, meanwhile, said that his return for next season would be unlikely.
TheWrap revealed "The Good Wife" season 6 spoilers when it spoke with the show's rep who confirmed that indeed Carrie Preston has signed on for a comeback, but "the extent and length of her return is unclear at this time."
The website described Elsbeth Tascioni as an "eccentric defense attorney" who has the knack for pulling off "very intricate legal maneuvers" despite her tendency to blurt out awkward observations "at inappropriate times."
In another report, Nathan Lane told Zap2it that his character, Clarke Hayden, won't likely be back for season 6.
"I'm not going to be able to do it this season. Maybe I could squeeze one [episode] in at some point, but I'm going to be in rehearsal and then in performances of a Terrence McNally play, so I don't know. ... I've had such a great time there. We'll see, if time permits," he said.
"The Good Wife" season 6 spoilers hinted a possible campaign by Alicia to become a state attorney, and "Rescue Me" cast Steven Pasquale might just be the man to help her do it.
Earlier, Deadline dished out "The Good Wife" season 6 spoilers when it reported that Steven Pascuale was added to the cast for two episodes to play Elfman, who is described as one of the top campaign managers in the country.
He is hired by Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) in trying to persuade Alicia into challenging James Castro (Michael Cerveris) for the state attorney seat.
"Does this mean Julianna Margulies' alter-ego will say 'yes' to Eli's plan for her to challenge Michael Cerveris' James Castro for his seat?" TVLine asked "Deadline notes Pasquale's gig is only slated to last for two episodes, so the prognosis remains cloudy."
