The Hobbit 3 Trailer has finally been released online. The teaser trailer for the final installment, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies was first unveiled at the San Diego Comic-con.
Hall H of the famed convention was packed with attendees who were treated to a star-studded panel that included director Peter Jackson, Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lily, Elijah Wood, and Andy Serkis.
Not only was The Hobbit 3 trailer debuted, the stars and the director of The Battle of the Five Armies talked about the final Hobbit movie, with The Colbert Report's Stephen Colbert moderating the discussing dressed as a hobbit! As a further treat, blooper reels from both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies were shown during the panel.
Notably absent during The Hobbit's Comic-con panel were Ian McKellen (Gandalf) and Bilbo Baggins actor Martin Freeman.
But the two are very much present in The Hobbit 3 trailer that you can watch below. From the looks of the trailer, the movie is heading towards a more serious, darker, atmosphere, reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Director Peter Jackson said as much, during the panel: "It's not as comical as the first Hobbit movie and they're progressively getting to tone of Fellowship Of The Ring."
The 1-minute, 57-second sneak peek is hardly with any dialogue, except for the somber speech from Bilbo Baggins in which he states gravely that he will never forget "everything that happened: the good, the bad, those that survived - and those that did not."
Most of The Hobbit 3 trailer is composed of a spectacular build up to battle scenes, featuring Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), and Tauriel (Evangeline Lily), and Bard the Bowman (Luke Evans).
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies opens in theaters this December
