Audrina Patridge's Comic Con appearance last Friday has earned mixed reviews from fans. In a report from Daily Mail, the former star of MTV reality series "The Hills" documented on her Twitter account her transformation as "X-Men" and Marvel villainess Mystique.
Audrina first shared a photo of her transformation on her Twitter page early Friday morning, with the caption: "And the transformation begins!"
The 29-year-old reality TV star committed to the transformation with head-to-toe blue body paint, a long bright red wig, and other details of Mystique, whose character in "X-Men" as a mutant shapeshifter allows her to transform into entirely different bodies and species.
The bad girl character has been portrayed in "X-Men" films by actresses such as Rebecca Romijn, and most recently by Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence.
Audrina Patridge attended Comic Con in San Diego with her younger sister, Casey Loza.
However, the appearance of Audrina Patridge at Comic-Con has earned her mixed reviews. TMZ reported that the reality star "ended up sticking out like a sore thumb" as she tried to blend in at the annual festival.
Audrina, who's latest gig includes the NBC lifestyle and travel show "1st Look", may not be as visible as she was when MTV's "The Hills" was still on air. The entertainment site went on to point out that "if there weren't cameras all over the convention center, Audrina probably wouldn't be rubbing elbows with Wookies and Klingons".
On the contrary, E!Online was all raves for Audrina, citing her Mystique transformation as "the most sensational look" for this year's Comic-Con, followed closely by Maitland Ward of the TV show "Girl Meets World", who came as Princess Leia.
Aside from those who came in die-hard fan costumes, E! also recognized celebs who attended Comic-Con in less outlandish ensembles, such as Megan Fox in David Koms, Jessica Alba in Tanya Taylor, Nina Dobrev in Naeem Khan, and Channing Tatum's wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum in full-body python print.
