Monday Night Raw Results 7/28: When you are the champion, there will always be detractors surrounding you and ready to snag that title away. John Cena for instance has an obstacle he needs to face that goes by the name of Brock Lesnar. With The Beast Incarnate named the No. 1 contender to Cena's WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Paul Heyman interrupted the champ only to torment him, and when the Cenation Leader was getting the upper hand, entered Cesaro, Heyman's former associate. In Heyman's behalf, Cesaro challenged the Champ into a match!
WWE.com has the summary of all the matches that transpired tonight.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena def. Cesaro
The King of Swing kept up with the champ with pure strength, unleashing a 10-rotation Cesaro Swing and clobbering The Champ with the Very European Uppercut, but a last burst of energy won The Champ the day when he jettisoned Cesaro off the top turnbuckle for a super-Attitude Adjustment.
WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos & Dolph Ziggler def. Intercontinental Champion The Miz & RybAxel
Miz attempted to get the last laugh, distracting Ziggler while Ryback is recovering. But it did not pan out. Dolph countered The Big Man's powerbomb into the Zig Zag and that was that, though with Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E watching at ringside, smart money says neither of these trios is out of the woods just yet.
R-Truth def. Bo Dallas
The streak is over. The former U.S. Champion conquered the streak by rolling Bo up during his premature victory lap, though Truth caught a decidedly unsportsmanlike beating for his efforts after the match.
Adam Rose def. Damien Sandow
Rose capitalized with a Party Foul within seconds once the match started.
Roman Reigns vs. Kane never happened
Having been promised he'd never get a title shot until Reigns was taken care of, The Apex Predator did his best to accomplish just that. He pulverized Reigns with kicks to the face and threw him into the steel steps before finishing him off with a hanging DDT off the barricade, an RKO atop the commentary table and - since the first one failed to shatter the desk - another that finally put Reigns through to the concrete.
Diego def. Fandango
Despite an aggressive burst that set Diego up for the top rope leg drop, El Torito and and the ladies provided a distraction at the opposite end and set Fandango up for a springboard sunset flip that put him down for a three-count.
Chris Jericho vs. Seth Rollins ended in a no contest
Just when the match was about to reach its conclusion, The Wyatts interrupted and beat up Chris Jericho, and Bray Wyatt made the final blow by giving Y2J a Sister Abigail.
Brie Bella confronted Stephanie McMahon
The two will square-off in Summerslam! Daniel Bryan must be very proud.
