Is Nina Dobrev dating Ben McKenzie?
Reports of Nina Dobrev dating Ben McKenzie jumpstarted the rumor mill after Saturday's Comic Con, where the two were spotted snuggling a little bit too close for comfort.
Nina's tumultuous relationship with "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder ended in splitsville last year. The actress has been reported in the company of others ever since, with Ben McKenzie the latest in an unconfirmed string of flings.
Ben McKenzie made it as Ryan on "The OC," also takes on a lead role in the Batman origins TV series "Gotham." The pair was caught hugging outside an Entertainment Weekly party last Saturday, a post Comic Con event.
The pair was more than friendly, and apparently left the event together, in the same cab. A Just Jared source insists their relationship is strictly platonic, though, at least for the meantime.
"They've been just friends for a few years. Ben is best friends with Nina's Vampire Diaries co-star Paul Wesley from way back."
Reports of Nina Dobrev dating Ben McKenzie isn't a surprise, the TVD star is as pursued as she'll ever be since she broke up with Ian (glamourmagazine.co.uk).
Nina was spotted with at least three certified hunks at Comic Con alone, arm-in-arm with 37 year old Orlando Bloom. It's easy to assume the pairing was cordial, given Bloom's status and in spite of his reported carefree social life.
Nina was then spotted with Ben Tuesday in an embrace which seemed affectionate. Rumors of a pairing sparked, since they've been with the same circle of friends.
The major upset was the following day, though. Nina was caught kissing Derek Theler, throwing off speculation about her current relationships.
Looks like Nina is on the hunt ever since the Ian breakup. A Hollywood Life report insists she is taking her time, though.
"She is not actively pursuing one but she is open minded about it and would start one if she found the right situation. She deals with stuff like that like everyone else, it will happen when it happens."
Reports of Nina Dobrev dating Ben McKenzie may or may not be a dud, but all bets are off.
