"Scandal" season 4 updates are here!

"Scandal" creator Shonda Rhimes has just recently took to Twitter to reveal the script for the first episode. Rhimes posted a photo of the script cover page showing the title "Randy, Red, Superfreak and Julia."

Tom Verica will be directing the first episode of season 4.

In previous interviews, Rhimes explained that "Scandal" season 4 will have a small time jump, and will start in a new time and location.

"... Season four is going to be very different from season three, the same way season two was different from season one ..."

"We're in a very different space than we were when we were even three episodes toward the end. We're in a very different spot and everybody has been wiped clean, and anything goes, in a weird way," Rhimes said to The Hollywood Reporter.

International Business Times gave a quick run-down on what happened in season 3:

"The Season 3 finale of "Scandal" saw Rowan succeeding in his plot to kill Fitz's son. He made it look like Maya is responsible for what happened. He got back his B-613's crown and put Maya back in the underground dungeon."

"Olivia took-up his father's offer to get on a plane and disappear, as she felt responsible for whatever tragic was happening around her. Fitz won the re-election and is the President, again, but he was in mourning because he lost his son. Without Olivia there to head it, OPA is no longer the same firm."

News of new cast members are also sparking fans' interests. Rumored to be pregnant Portia de Rossi will reportedly join the cast in season 4, but her role has yet to be revealed. With Colombus Short not returning next season, rumors of a new "African-American" character coming to the show has surfaced. The character is said to be a lawyer in his 30s to 50s.

"Scandal" season 4 is set to premiere on September 25, 2014.
