Which smartphone is worth the purchase? We compare the Nexus 5 against the Nokia Lumia 930 to see which device is better.

In terms of design and display, the Nokia Lumia 930 has a bigger display measuring 5 inches ClearBlack, OLED display which can render a resolution of 1,920×1,080pixels and supports 441ppi. It measures 137x71x9.8 mm and it weighs 167 grams.

The Nexus 5 on the other hand has the same 4.95 inches display which also renders a resolution of 1,920×1,080pixels, but it only supports a 445ppi. The smartphones has the following dimensions: f 137.9×69.2×8.6 mm and it is 37 grams lighter than its competitor.

For the hardware and OS, Both smartphones are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor: the Nokia Lumia 930 has a quad-core processor which is clocked at 2.2GHz, while the Nexus 5 has a Quad-core Krait 400 processor, clocked at 2.3GHz. The internal memory of the Lumia 930 is at 32GB, plus it has 7GB of cloud storage from the Microsoft OneDrive. The Nexus 5 is available in two variants of internal memories: 16 and 32GB.

The Nokia smartphone runs on the Windows 8.1 OS with 2GB of RAM, the Nexus smartphone has also 2GB of RAM, but it runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS which is upgradeable to the 4.4.4 KitKat version.

For battery usage and camera specs, the Nokia Lumia 930 is equipped with a 2,420mAh battery which allows users to talk for over 17,9 hours on 3G, and it lasts 75 hours while playing music. The Nexus 5 has a Li-Po 2,300mAh batter which allows users to talk for about 17 hours on 3G. Both of the batteries can be charged via WiFi.

The Nokia smartphone comes with a 20MP PureView camera (dual LED flash and four directional microphones with Surround Sound), while the Nexus 5 has an 8MP rear camera with photo sphere, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, and dual recording. It also has a 1.3MP front camera.

Other features include the Nokia Photo Transfer app which allows users to transfer photos to MAa, plus a Exchange ActiveSync app. There’s also a papyrus app with which allow users to write notes that look like natural handwriting.

There are many built-in game apps for Nokia unit (Touch UI, DirectX 11, XBox-Live Hub and Adidas miCoach), you can access Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and WhatsApp etc.

The Nexus 5 also has impressive apps such a Maps, Google Search, YouTube, Gmail, Calendar, Picasa and Google Talk. Users can also edit images, videos and text with an editor.

The Nexus 5 16GB variant costs $390 on amazon.com, while the Nokia Lumia 930 is around $729, according to Gizmodo.
