Zac Efron has never lied about his time in rehab in September of last year. But he hasn't been openly sharing stories about his stint in there either. It will be remembered that the 26-year-old had two bouts with rehab after a reported cocaine addiction.

Some time after Zac Efrons's rehab, the actor thanks his fans on Instagram for their love and support, saying "Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to tahank you all for your support these past few weeks... means the world to me. Love you guys. -Z. With it this caption, the actor posted a phot of himself in the Machu PIcchu mountain ruins.

But it is onlu now that the High School Musical hunk has talked openly about his rehab. And he did it with Bear Grylls, on the premiere episode of NBC's Running Wild With Bear Grylls. This reality show has the British adventurer taking celebrities on a two-day survival test that would challenge their strength and mettle.

The actor was upfront to Grylls about the pressures he faced with the invasio of privacy that came with stardom.

"The challenging part was never the work. That was never it," the actor says says."It was sort of the in-between work-the social aspects outside of it. I mean, everywhere you go to a certain extent, there is press in some form."

He adds that it had come to a point where he needed to find a way to cope with the challenges that came with being so famous all of a sudden at a young age. "Whether you're going to an event where you're supposed to be out...there will be press there, if you're leaving your house to go to the grocery store, there will be press there. It can be everywhere and it can be confusing," he shared. "You spend a lot of time in your house, going crazy and pretty soon, you need a social lubricant. It was getting to the point where I was caring less about the work and caring more about the weekend. I couldn't wait to go out. And sort of let loose and have fun. But when Monday and Tuesday were difficult to get through, then I was like 'ugh this is bad.'"

Thankfully the young actor was able to turn his life around, and he has been busy doing movies and lending his voice to animated films.
