"Star Wars Episode 7" rumors point at the possible involvement of Simon Pegg, the star of the cult classic "Shaun of the Dead," as Mark Hamill jetted off to Ireland to continue production for the Disney film.
The "Star Wars Episode 7" rumors were fueled by "Sherlock" cast Benedict Cumberbatch during the San Diego Comic-Con when he told attendees: "I think J.J. is very good at creating something original out of something known, and I think apart from his continuing use of Simon Pegg - and who can blame him, frankly - it made sense not to do it."
MTV News zoomed in on what Benedict Cumberbatch said that wondered if Simon Pegg will also be used in "Star Wars Episode 7."
The Vulture magazine caught up with Simon Pegg and directly confronted him regarding the "Star Wars Episode 7 rumors.
"J.J. uses me in different roles, and we're good friends. I feel like my face in 'Star Wars' would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love 'Star Wars,' and I don't want people to watch and go, 'Oh, there's Simon Pegg's face,'" he joked.
"The film is cleverly cast with these amazing, unknown actors," he added, without really admitting or denying anything.
The Vulture pointed out that he was seen visiting the set and he replied: "Of course I visited the set. It's amazing, and I love 'Star Wars.' I want to see everything happening. It looks wonderful, and you need to believe those characters. Any type of stunt casting might just pop you out of the movie."
Whether Simon Pegg is kidding when he said his face will scare audiences or not,MTV added, there's still a way for Simon Pegg to be in "Star Wars Episode 7" and that's through makeup or lending his voice to a CGI character.
