Manchester United striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez would be a great addition to Atletico Madrid's attack team, says Diego Simone, Atletico Madrid's boss.
The Mexican player transferred to the English team four years ago in 2010, but he was not more than a substitute player for the past seasons.
Inter, a newly established club by Nemanja Vidic, former United Manchester captain, has also expressed their interest in signing Chicharito. Atletico, on the other hand, wishes that the Mexican can fill the void that Diego Costa and David Villa left.
Atletico currently only has Mrio Mandzukic as their lone striker in the team. However, Coach Simone did not give a direct confirmation that he really did place a bit on the 26- year- old striker from Mexico.
"We speak to the sporting directors, we gave them the ideas on the type of players we want and then they get the players," the Argentine coach said to the media.
"With Javier Hernandez and plenty of other great players, anything is possible. We can't close the door to anyone until the transfer window closes.
"He is a vertical player, great in one on one situations, he's a great option for any team."
However, the new Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal, said that "he cannot answer" the questions regarding Hernandez's future on his team, despite giving him 13 minutes worth of play time during the team's previous game versus Inter in the International Champions Cup last Wednesday.
"He is a player of Manchester United at this moment," said the World Cup coach.
Chicharito has also expressed his uncertainty for his future, saying "I don't know what's going to happen, only God knows." It seems that the player does not wantto discuss his team transfers at all.
"I just have to keep working," he added. We will just have to see how things play in the near future.
