NSYNC's new album for 2014 was so much a surprise that not even the band new it was being released.
Lance Bass caught first wind of NSYNC's new album for 2014, and in a sarcastic tweet vented out the studio's apparent inability to inform the boy band of the release. Lance's reaction was understandable, even moderated considering the neglect.
"I love when the record label doesn't even tell you they are releasing a new 'NSYNC album tomorrow ! #TheyCare"
On the NSYNC Twitter account, Lance comments: "New album out tomorrow! Who knew?! - LB"
The new album is titled "The Essential *NSYNC," and is already sold out for preorders at Amazon. Retail price is at $13.88, and apparently no one in the band had a clue on what was going on (perezhilton.com).
What's surprising about the release is the relative lack of promotion. Fans still managed to track down the preorder site, though, and copies have sold out since the July 29 preorder announcement.
The rest of the band expressed their excitement on the surprise release of NSYNC's new album for 2014, in spite of Sony not letting them in the loop. Lance Bass hints at new material in the compilation:
"There's a lot of these songs I don't think I've ever heard, I remember recording them but I've never heard them before, so I'm interested in just hearing it." "The Essential NSYNC" is currently one of the most downloaded albums available on iTunes.
Chris Kirkpatrickcomments "It's great to release some of the songs that had never made a record before!" on Twitter Tuesday, and Joey Fatone and JC Chasez have also thanked the fans for the continued support.
Fatone: "Pretty interesting this album comes out which I really had no idea and it's in the top of Amazon and iTunes lol owe it to our fans THANK U
