Katy Perry recently performed at a dinner celebration at the White House, where she got to perform in from of the President, Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama.

Perry attended the event that was designed to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics and its founder, Eunice Shriver, according to E! News.

The "Roar" singer, who recently confessed to not needing a man in order to get pregnant, brought her mother along with her to the gathering.

Prior to her performance, President Obama introduced the "Unconditional" singer and said, "We have just one of my favorite people performing tonight - Katy Perry. We are so grateful to her."

The President went on and said, "I love Katy Perry. She is just a wonderful person. I've just met her mom and now I know why she is such a wonderful person, but I just want everybody to know she is on tour right now and so for her to take time out to do this is really special, and so we really want to say thank you to her for doing this."

Perry, whose parents are both Republicans, previously performed at a private fundraiser in Los Angeles back in 2012, E! News noted.

In a previous interview with Marie Claire, she revealed, "My parents are Republicans, and I'm not. They didn't vote for Obama, but when I was asked to sing at the inauguration, they were like, 'We can come.' And I was like, 'No, you can't!'

Meanwhile, other than the "Fireworks" singer, several other artists were in attendance at Thursday night's event.

Stevie Wonder, Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker were also present at the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics, aimed at allowing athletes with disabilities to play and compete in various types of sports, NY Daily News reported.

"What all these people represent is what the Special Olympics is all about overcoming obstacles with love and kindness and generosity and healthy competition. Those are values that everybody can use. Those are values that the Special Olympics can teach all of us," the President said.
