Jon Jones' next fight will push through as planned despite a nasty cut above his right eye. The current light heavyweight champion also guaranteed that the wound would be healed in a week.

Jon Jones' next fight will be against Daniel Cormier for UFC 178, after his original opponent, Alexander Gustafsson, pulled out of the match due to an injury. The fight is set to take place on in Las Vegas on September 27th.

"Bones" posted a photo of his cut via social media site Instagram, wherein he also clarified his current status. In a report by FOX News, Jon Jones' next fight was in danger of being postponed because of the said cut he sustained during training.

But according to Lance Pugmire of the LA Times, UFC President Dana White himself confirmed that UFC 178 will push through as planned.

"Told by @danawhite that the cut over @JonnyBones eye is "far enough away from the fight, that he'll be OK," to keep the Sept. 27 date," Pugmire said through his personal Twitter account about Jon Jones' next fight.

Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting also confirmed that the fight would push through, as he was able to speak with "Bones'" manager Malki Kawa. Helwani added that Kawa said that Jon Jones "will be fine" despite the injury.

Jon Jones has been active in social media, particularly Instagram, whether it was answering his detractors or giving updates about the current happenings surrounding his training camps and his personal life.

He recently answered all questions surrounding this most recent injury through another post on the said social media site. There, he gave a timetable of how long it will take for him to be completely healed.

"FYI this is a completely different scar than the one I had in that area previously, they're not even touching," Jones said in his Instagram post. "The four stitches will be out in four days."

"The wound should be healed within a week," he wrote. "Time for me to start wearing my head gear #adversityisnothing"
