While it is sure that "Thor 3" is already in the works, Marvel has yet to confirm the release date of the new movie.
Den of Geek's Mike Cecchini makes his bold prediction that the god of thunder will be back on the big screen on May 5, 2017 after Marvel revealed its movie line-up for the next five years.
Just recently, Screen Crush has confirmed that Marvel is indeed pushing through with "Thor 3," and has in fact, already hired screenwriters. One of which, is Marvel's former Senior Vice President for Production and Devopment Craig Kyle.
Kyle will be working on the "Thor 3" screenplay with Christopher Yost who has already written for "Thor: The Dark World."
Now that fans are sure to get their "Thor" fix, they can expect to see Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth), Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) and Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) reprise their roles in the upcoming blockbuster.
Speculations have been made that "Thor 3" will feature a well-known character in the comics- Amora the Enchantress. This early, "The Wolf Of Wall Street's" Margot Robbie has been suggested to play the role of the sexy enchantress.
Aside from this possible addition to the movie's powerhouse cast, the third "Thor" movie is said to show Asgard's demise.
According to "Thor 3" spoilers on Movie Pilot, Asgard could come to an end because of Chris Hemsworth's Thor as a part of the "apocalyptic comic book story of Ragnarok."
"After ripping off his brother Loki's head, Thor goes to Muspellheim to meet Surtur after he shattered his hammer and carrying his brother's head," an article in Fashion & Style said.
"The fire giant wants to know whether Thor wants a final battle, but Thor instead convinces Surtur to allow him to reforge his hammer," the website added. "In exchange, Thor smashes down a mountain and lets Surtur lead his army of fire demons onto Asgard. The Norse Valhalla is consumed in fire."
This will be devastating news for fans of the movie franchise, but is an expected event for fans of the comics.
